I’ve been using a 4k+ for years now with my current soundbar/TV. I just replaced it with a new Vero V and a brand new issue has popped up. OSMC, my VIZIO SB36512-F6 5.1 soundbar, and my LG C2 all randomly get muted. (The red mute symbol appears in the top right of OSMC, and the LG’s mute symbol comes on, and the soundbar flashes for muting). The muting goes away when I turn it off with the LG remote (except for the red symbol, but the audio comes back). I can get the red symbol to go by hitting +.
This muting happens regardless of whether the input is on OSMC or on something else. I can be watching content in regular channels or an LG app, or just not playing anything at all at the home screen of kodi.
I have turned off a lot of the CEC functions (Switch source to this device on startup, put devices in standby mode when activating screensaver, force avr to wake up when kodi activated, devices to also put in standby mode, devices to power on during startup: none.
I have changed sound to 2.0 (I also tried 7.1 and 5.1 which didn’t change anything).
I have also made sure eARC is off on the TV (Vizio does not support it). I have turned off eco-mode on the Vizio.
I have unplugged everything from the wall and plugged it back in.
The Vero is connected to the HDMI in of the Soundbar which is connected to the arc port of the TV. This is because the C2 can’t pass through DTS.

Normally, you see exactly one “HDMITX cable is plugin” message when starting the system.
I suspect that there is a physical issue with your cabling, or that your soundbar is doing something odd.
Use the hdmi cable that came with the Vero V or at least an HDMI Premium High Speed one. Personally, I wouldn’t buy a cable below the “HDMI Ultra High Speed” standard anymore.
Thank you so much for the suggestion. But I replaced the cables from OSMC to the soundbar and the soundbar to the TV with brand new Zeskit Maya 2.1 8K UHS cables. Random muting still happening. Of course, that doesn’t eliminate the soundbar itself as the source of the plugin/plugouts. The next step is probably to give up on DTS and connect OSMC to the TV directly.
That being said, here’s new logs and it looks like what you were seeing about plugin/plugouts has gone away? So maybe that solved something else. I’ll look out for changes, cause that would be amazing if that fixed some other annoying but livable thing I’ve been living with. Thanks!
And what have you changed now? I still see the Vero V connected to port 1 of an HDMI device that is linked to port 2 of the TV.
At this point? Nothing but changing out the HDMI cables. Vero V is still connected to HDMI In on the Vizio soundbar, Vizio soundbar connected to the eARC port of the LG (eARC is turned off on the LG due to the Vizio’s lack of eARC support).

I’ve never used that ‘turnoff’ screensaver, but it looks to me like it uses CEC to tell the other devices to mute the sound. That is also its default setting:
I think that could explain the behavior you’re observing.
Try simply disabling that feature of the ‘turnoff’ screensaver, or use a different screensaver.

Oh man, nailed it. Yes, it was on the Mute audio default behavior. Thank you so much. I thought that that setting was what I had on the old box, but it probably was on black instead.
