I went through 6 diff config’s to see which is best
found OSMC the best for my pi’s
it boots tad slower but after that very stable even tried to break it with some crazy builds(did lose the OSMC short cut on some)

Mine boots in 
in less than 15 sec.
My OSMC is an allways on, I have booted a long time ago, for some updates yes but not regulary.

Ya Hi I plan on leaving my pi’s on back of tv’s and not turning off unless I have to.
found some skins (titan) will crash osmc I get the frown face
can anyone give me pointer to a good skin that has some features ,but works fast
