does this sound right, ive just flashed the drive using etcher, and when i click on the usb drive it says u need to format the drive before u can use it, then volume does not contain a recognized file system? so i cant access the usb drive after ive flashed it
No. The flash should be installing a FAT volume which Windows can read. I think you should be able to reformat the stick as FAT in Windows (you might have to stop it defaulting to exFat but FAT32 should be possible as itâs only 30GB if memory serves). That formatting step should not be necessary for either Etcher or the OSMC installer but itâs worth a try.
You could also try using an SD card if you have one spare.
I suspect you have not unzipped it.
Or I just checked - balenaEtcher works from the zipped file so no need to unzip it first.
im giving up nothing works cant spend anymore time getting nowhere
If worst comes to worst you could post it back to us (as you seem to be in the UK) and I can re-flash it.
Iâd try another PC if you have one.
that would be most welcome, do u need the power cable? shall i put a note in so you no whats happening, ive not got another pc to try, im guessing the address is on the website
I very much doubt a reinstall is the answer. See here Network problems - #18 by grahamh
Missed that. That indeed needs solving and a reinstall probably wonât solve this.
As much as it pains mye coz Iâve been using vero since the 1st release I just canât sort this problem out, download Plex last night set it up and it worked 1st time!
Letâs get this solved.
Whatâs Plex set up on, and whatâs the IP address on that, if you know?
Cheers

so a little update, i got a new USB stick and did the install, as some of you had said it didnt make any difference, but my vero did an update (im guessing i reinstalled an early version) and from that i could access all my files so i still dont know this happened but im glad it did coz i do like the vero, have lost over 800 films though!! gonna be downloading for a few weeks now LOL, thanks for all the help everyone
Iâm not sure how you wouldâve lost any files, unless you experienced some corruption on the host itself.
