Anyone else having issues with the remote that comes with the Vero v?
First press usually does not do anything and then second press either does nothing or registers to presses. Its very frustrating as for example on video playback it causes video to pause and unpause so have to do it twice.
Try changing the battery and re-pair the remote
its been happening as soon as I got the vero v. would the battery be low on a brand new remote?
Yes, mistakes can happen even during the battery manufacturer’s final inspection. At least then you’ll know, by process of elimination, whether it was the cause of your problem or whether the battery can no longer be the root cause. Don’t forget the re-pairing.
So replaced battery and re paired and same issue. sometimes pressing button does nothing.
Thx, is there a USB 3.2 Gen 1/2/2x2 device connected to the left usb port of the VeroV or very close to the device? A bad shielding can influence the function of the RF remote control. A better USB cable or a greater distance can help.
If this is not the case, please contact support@osmc.tv for this and mention your order number. Thx.
no USB devices connected on it or near it.
will email them thanks
Hi,
I have the same issue with the remote. It feels like the remote needs to “wake up” on the first click then you can use it and when you have not used it for a while, one click to “wake it” up again. Does the remote have a sleep setting? Nothing connected in any of the USB slots.
My Vero is in a closed cabinet, like my other equipment, so every signal goes through the OLED LG TV like all my other equipment and none behaves like Vero’s remote. So there is no issues with the obstacles preventing the signal.
Cheers,

Hi,
I have similiar problems with the remote on my vero5 since the first day. Remote only works as expected for some seconds then no button press is recognized or only a few buttons are working for seconfs. And so on. Perhaps there are any similar issues known?
I bought the Vero5 in late 2024.

Yeah Mine’s done that from the start too - the 4+ was flawless. I think the hardware change for the internal dongle is just patchy.
We’re not aware of any significant issues with any recent batches of remotes.
We did have some interference issues when USB3 hardware was used on initial Vero V devices sold in mid-end 2023; but we improved this significantly in future revisions.
Please see Improving remote performance - Vero V - OSMC.
If you do not use the remote for a while then a re-pair is always advised to ensure that it is operating on the best possible channel (environments can change).

Hi Sam
So my issue is not around not using it for awhile as I use it every day. I have changed batteries and no difference and not using any USB devices connected to it.
I sent email to support but no response yet.
Thanks, I will pick the email up in a bit.

Hi, today I did some further troubleshooting and testing.
I disconnected the USB-HDD from the USB3 port and the responsive of the remote is much better now. Then I connected the HDD to the USB2 port and the remote is still as responsive than before. With this setup I’m happy enough. The remote is nearly working as good than the remote on the Vero4k+. aHopefully this behavior will not change in future.
Thanks to Sam for the hint: Improving remote performance - Vero V - OSMC
Same problem here, remote is generally flaky in operation, and has always been (I have SSD storage connected via USB). It irritated me enough that I was encouraged to finally embrace CEC. I rarely use the supplied remote anymore.
