I use the Advanced WOL Kodi addon to wake up my media server (win7 PC).
Anyone know of a similar addon to remotely shutdown a media server?
Or of some other way I can do this?
Maybe have the server shut itself down after a certain length of inactivity?
I use a task scheduler entry to close my machine down at 02:00, then use a setting in the BIOS to power back on at 10:00. I have a CRON job on the Pi reboot it after 10:00, with it set to update libraries on startup.
This seems to work quite well (though I think the 10:00 startup is too early, but obviously it can be changed to suit your needs).
