Reset button?

Has been happening more often now. This time SSH did work to restart the mediacenter. Log uploaded as odakabidum.

It’s a big log but nothing stands out as being “obviously” wrong.

The system journal shows very little until you SSH’d to the box to restart mediacenter:

so I assume that the freeze occurred a short time before 23:10.

Equally, the Kodi log doesn’t offer very much for this timeframe:

The only thing I noticed is a relatively large (2.2%) number of dropped packets on eth0:

RX packets:13913065 errors:0 dropped:306621 overruns:0 frame:0

This might be because of a network-related problem or something as benign as receiving IPv6 packets. I’ve no way of knowing.

Perhaps someone else will spot something I missed.

Fixed this a week or so ago.

Staging has the fix – update will be released on Sunday

OK. So probably not the cause of the crash then? Just out of curiosity: Does the Vero have a watchdog?

Did you install the fix from staging?

There’s a watchdog but it’s not used (same as on Pi)

Not yet. Do you recommend it or should I wait for the regular upgrade.

It’s up to you – pushing it to release isn’t far off now.

I often find my frozen when i come to use it, and yes a reset would be handy… unplugging the power fixes it… hopefully the updare gets it cured.

That freezing shouldn’t be happening but as discussed, it may be related to a specific addon you’re using.
