Resolution 2560x1080 possible in general? On Pi1?

Is it possible to set a resolution of 2560x1080?
Looking at RPiconfig - eLinux.org, the Pi1 seems not to support it. But 2560x1600 should be possible?

And how about the Pi2 or Vero?

According to all sources 1080p is max what you can get for now. Also with RPi2 and Vero

Not offially supported, but you could read here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=24679
and it may be possible to create a custom mode.

Thank you, I tried it with the link above, but it resulted in 1920x1080 or no picture at all.
So I shall be happy as it is :wink:

I put

hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt=2560 1080 60

and

hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_timing=2560 0 0 0 0 1080 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 60 0 230000000 7

in the config.txt
