Restore 4K+ to 4K

A quick question before I go ahead and break something …

Is it possible/advisable to restore a backup from a 4K+ device to a standard 4K device?

Reason being, I was going to gift my older 4K to my dad, but thought it would be easier to restore config and setup from my own 4K+ (and then make any adjustments). I’m assuming there’d be no real issue in doing so.

As for Retropie, I guess I’d need to install this on the 4K per the RetroOSMC installation instructions, as a separate activity to the backup restore.

You mean via the MyOSMC backup function? If yes than no problem to do so.

Yes if using the above that is a separate task.
