Revert Kodi 18 alpha back to Kodi 17 stable?

Hello,

I upgraded weeks ago my RPi 3 to Kodi 18 alpha (i wanted to try if i could decode H265 videos at that time, unfortunately it didn’t work).
I’m blocked with some H265 videos that aren’t played (no image).

I recently installed Emby server on my RPi to handle metadata + try H265 (maybe with transcode i don’t know, i’m noob for now, and Plex played them perfectly).
But Emby-Server is not compatible with Kodi 18 at the moment because of the ‘Alpha’ version.

So my question is : is there a clean method to revert back from Kodi 18 alpha to Kodi 17 ? (except fresh install)

Unfortunately there isn’t a trivial downgrade method.

There were video improvements for H265 playback on Raspberry Pi in the May update

Reverting from GMC builds should be possible unless its really bound up with CEC and kernel fixes ?

He also bumps other packages when necessary. It could get quite messy.

ahh k, well it was worth the question, so no doubt that he should reinstall rather then downgrade
