Unfortunately no. I have disabled updates and stuck to the previous release.
I see that the September release (OSMC’s September update - OSMC) does not include any fixes related to audio pass-through.

I’m facing a similar issue. A few days ago I bought a Raspberry Pi 2 and decided to give osmc a try.
Everything was working fine but the audio passthrough!
My rpi2 is connected to my TV via HDMI and my sound system is connected to the TV with an optical cable.
When I enable audio passthrough for AC3 I can only ear strange noises in the speaker.
The audio passthrough was working fine in my rpi 1 model B running raspbmc.
I will try the previous version of osmc and let you know the result.
If Pi1 works, it might be worth enabling omxplayer in video/acceleration settings.
That is default for Pi1, but not for Pi2.
