In order to play a Blu Ray Disc directly, would I need to get a mpeg2 license for my raspberry pi? My raspberry pi recognizes my drive correctly and recognizes the disks in the Blu ray drive.
There is no real good way with linux right now to handle Bluray because of the encryption.
I use MakeMKV (free while it’s in beta) to rip my Blurays to mkv, but it will not work on the ARM platform. I do my rips on my Linux Mint system and copy them over to my library. MakeMKV also works on Windows and Mac.
yes that’s what I do too. makemkv-oss does compile on the raspberry pi 2. but unfortunately makemkv-bin has not been released for the armhf platform yet.
