RPi2 OSMC does not boot

Hi there, i got my second RPi2 few days ago, i was trying to install OSMC on my RPi2 but when i turn it on it does not boot up, the only thing that i get is “black screen” even the green light doesn’t blink, i have tried to install OSMC on different SD cards & Flash disks but every time that i try i get the same results.

RPi2 Model: B;

Did you download the right image?

Yup, i tried even the both RC2 & RC3 images, file names are:

OSMC_TGT_rbp2_20150412.img
&
OSMC_TGT_rbp2_20150519.img

What I mean is, are you sure it is a Pi 2?

Yup, I’m sure that it’s Raspberry Pi 2 Model B.

Try using a different card. There are many possible issues here, do you get a red power light?

You say this is your second Pi 2 - what happens if you substitute your other Pi 2 but keep the same SD card, power adaptor, HDMI cable and so on - does it work then ?

Or the reverse - use your new Pi 2 (only the board) to replace your existing Pi 2 installation to see if it still runs.

Shouldn’t be hard to find the problem with a process of elimination.

i tried with 3 other SD cards & flash disks, but no chance,
Yes, the both green & red lights are on.

Tried with the both of those but its not working on the both btw;
even i tried to write the images on disks by the both Win32DiskImager & OSMC installer.

This Is My cmdline & config files data, can be something wrong with these?

cmdline:
dwc_otg.fiq_fix_enable=1 sdhci-bcm2708.sync_after_dma=0 dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 console=tty1 root=/dev/ram0 quiet init=/init loglevel=2 osmcdev=rbp2

config:
disable_overscan=1
framebuffer_depth=32
gpu_mem=16

Those are not the correct filenames - they should be img.gz not .img. The OSMC installer expects the image to still be gzipped when you choose the option to use a local disk image, whereas if you use win32diskimager you should unzip the image files and use it as a .img.

Can I ask why you’re not using the automatic download option in the OSMC installer though ?

Are you saying you have tested it on a second Pi 2 and it still doesn’t work ? If so what OS is the other Pi 2 currently running ? Or have both of these Pi 2’s never been used before ?

They look ok to me.

Yeah i know, it was actually img.gz but when i used “rename” option to copy its name it didn’t copy its file extension.

Slow internet connection.

But i think i have to try installer automatic download option btw… :confused:

my internet speed is actually 128KB/s but i don’t know why installer downloads it this slow.

the both of these RPi2’s never been used before.

Even used the automatic download option but i got the same results as before.

Can you install another operating system like Raspbian ?

If not then you must have a hardware fault somewhere.

Yes, Ubuntu-mate/ Open-elec / Raspbian / RetroPi are working well on the both of those.
