RPI2 unresponsive every once in a while

it happened again and got the same error “no space left on device”.
http://paste.osmc.io/bitezekopu

had to restart the media center again.

Not sure what it is going on…

thanks

Unless it’s referring to the MyCloud it makes no sense, Attn @sam_nazarko [code]

Would need to see a full set of logs after a manual attempt at an upgrade. /proc/mounts would also be good.

@antani You need to enable debug then grab a set of logs

I enabled debug and grabbed some more logs after it froze again.

Then I restarted mediacenter (still same error about no space left) and grabbed again logs, just in case.

Why should WDMYCLOUD be the issue? there are 400+ GB free…

EDITED: grammar didn’t make sense

I have a similar issue. After booting everything is fine and I can spend an entire evening watching content. When I go back a following day (I keep my RPi turned on) then OSMC will hang within a minute. This happens both when just browsing through the menus or when playing back a movie.

I can SSH in just fine and can reboot from there. Logs don’t show anything interesting, but I will see if I can enable debug logging.

I’ve tried updating the rbp2-mediacenter-osmc.deb but this did not solve it.

my clairvoyant abilities arent that good so mind forking over some logs or it didnt happen

$5 you got a shit repo installed

There’s a good chance of that  I’ll try to remove any dodgy repo’s and see if that helps.

Just out of curiosity, what is the reason a bad repo causes a hang, though? Is that documented somewhere?

https://kodi.tv/warning-be-aware-what-additional-add-ons-you-install/

3rd party addons are infiltrating the system quite aggressively and “hangs” is one possible outcome.

Pretty much the link that fzinken gave you i got some practical examples aswell if your really interested beyond the Kodi warning.

i wouldn’t want an infected device on my network…

LOL. I provided my logs and disabled superrepo. Not sure what else I can try…

Haha, finally :yum:

Maybe running out of inodes…

Can you give output for this command :

df -i

You can also have a look at this link

For using S.M.A.R.T under :osmc:
sudo apt-get install smartmontools

here df -i. I will try later tonight with SMART.
osmc@osmc:~$ df -i

tmpfs 93883 4 93879 1% /run/user/1000

Everything looks fine with df -i

I’ve removed unusual repositories but the problem still persists. Debug logging is available here: http://paste.osmc.io/exehahuqey.vhdl

This happens after OSMC has been idle for a couple of hours. It either hangs during browsing of the video list or immediately after playback of a video has started. SSH is still working though, so I was able to grab the log.

I’m running the latest available version of OSMC along with the updated rbp2-mediacenter-osmc package mentioned in this thread.

Revert overclock back to normal profile and test again.

It’s not overclocked.
