RPI4: install and boot from external HDD drive

I managed to install and boot Raspbian OS from an external USB drive. Can I do the same for OSMC?

Yes – but you’ll still need an SD card for the boot files.

Why ? RPI4 supports USB boot now.

Thanks, after further reading I learnt that.
I ended installing on an SD, the old way.
Hope this feature will be in OSMC soon or later

I’ve outlined the changes needed for OSMC to support a pure USB boot and am happy to accept a PR to facilitiate these changes.
