Had a hard time trying to upgrade from Ver 15.x to 17.1 … wouldnt update thru OSMC, but fail every time, so then I downloaded and installed again from USB stick…it went thru the full process, rebooting and failed again.
Followed the previous threads about running from console using
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
But still wouldnt update or run, I’ll try another boot with the USB and installation again see if that will work or not, I uploaded the logs as shown below.
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/atv-image-4.2.3-22-osmc_22_i386.deb (–unpack):
unable to clean up mess surrounding `./boot/System.map-4.2.3-22-osmc’ before installing another version: Read-only file system
You have a read only filesystem. Normally happens if the device is not shut down properly or has defective media.
