Sad face on ATV1 with CystalHD

Had a hard time trying to upgrade from Ver 15.x to 17.1 … wouldnt update thru OSMC, but fail every time, so then I downloaded and installed again from USB stick…it went thru the full process, rebooting and failed again.

Followed the previous threads about running from console using
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

But still wouldnt update or run, I’ll try another boot with the USB and installation again see if that will work or not, I uploaded the logs as shown below.

dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/atv-image-4.2.3-22-osmc_22_i386.deb (–unpack):
unable to clean up mess surrounding `./boot/’ before installing another version: Read-only file system

You have a read only filesystem. Normally happens if the device is not shut down properly or has defective media.

Did you notice this thread pinned to the top of the ATV subforum? (Where, incidentally, your post wasn’t created in?)

No sorry, the web layout totally changed from my last visit and i could not find where the ATV section was, I’ll look again.

I was able to reinstall on HD again and this time it worked.

thanks for assistance.
