Sad face trying to load pictures

Hello all,

I have lots of pictures stored on my Windows 11 server. Tonight I tried to view a batch of them through OSMC and ended up getting sad faces. I could see that thumbs were being loaded but eventually that stopped At one point, I tried to click on a thumbnail to view a picture and the picture came up, followed shortly by a sad face.

I’ve captured the logs from tonight’s session here:

I look forward to any feedback from the experts on what I might be doing wrong.

Thanks!

Hi, I can’t even see a mediacenter exception in the kernel logs and debug logging was disabled.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Hello,

Sorry for the goof-up on logging options.

I got a slide show of the pictures working later last night (I have no idea why it started working), but if the problem recurs, I’ll do as you prescribe and generate a proper log file.
