I’ve got some files that stutter/skip; one is a TV series, and all episodes skip, one is a movie, it skips. TV is 1080p, movie is 4k. Both play fine in another room on a Windows machine running the same version of Kodi.
When I have logging on, the FPS is jumping all over the place (anywhere from like 18 FPS in the GUI to 180 FPS in parts of video). Also, on the TV show in particular the remote barely works (hit stop 20 times and it’ll PROBABLY stop…)
Here’s my log:

Happy to be pointed in the right direction, hopefully this isn’t super redundant (I did read some, couldn’t find anything that seemed to be the same).
Hi
Sorry for the late reply. I was travelling.
GUI FPS can be ignored – it just shows the refresh rate of the video overlay.

Is this the file you tried to play? There is a lot of thumbnail extraction in your logs

Thanks for getting back, and no worries. Hopefully traveling was relaxing and not stressful.
One of the files I’m trying to play starts here:
2022-06-24 20:36:52.705 T:2724
I’m honestly not sure where it ends. I see multiple LIRC messages, and this is the file where the remote is largely non responsive.
The other file (turns out they are both 1080p) starts here:
2022-06-24 20:43:50.177 T:2724
The remote works normally on this file, there’s just a lot of judder in the video.
Let me know what helpful information I can provide; thanks!

Can you do a fresh log (reboot) and play a problematic file?

I’ll try to get that for you tomorrow (the baby is asleep in that room, and I have no desire to wake him!)
