Slow wifi with Edimax ew-7811Un (Raspberry Pi 2)

That looks like a good connection.

While your previous test showed already very likely the issue on he wifi maybe you can do a test with iperf against your notebook so that you clearly have LAN performance.

sudo apt-get install iperf3

On the iperf server side :

EDIT : the server was a wired connected rpi 2, the client my wifi trouble rpi. I also tried with a rpi 3 wired as the client, and the bandwith is live 85Mbits/sec

OK that really confirms your issue.
I currently don’t have access to my rpi that has that wireless adapter connected to crosscheck.

Did you tried the RPi3 internal wireless to see if that performs well on your wifi?

From the rpi3 wireless connected :

Very clear sign. I will check when I get access to my adapter again (can be several days later).

Did you see anything in the logs that could give a hint for the problem?

Nothing seems strange to me, but I’m not an expert : http://paste.osmc.io/lanawujopo
Thanks for your help.

I solved it by buying an another wifi dongle : https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00GMY40T0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Everything is okay, with a download debit at 45Mbits/s !

Hi,

I’m facing the exact same issue with this dongle and a RPI2. I guess it has to do with the kernel version / a parameter that was introduced in newer version of the kernel because I did not get issues with Raspbian Jessie before.

I also get less than 1 Mbit/s when testing with iperf.
