Why smartd.service is failed?
systemctl reports the following:
UNIT LOAD ACTIVE SUB JOB DESCRIPTION
smartd.service loaded failed failed Self Monitoring and Reporting Technology (SMART) Daemon`
What could be the problem?
Does your harddrive support s.m.a.r.t?
You must have installed the smart software - it is not installed by default in OSMC.
And unless you have a physical spinning disk it will be of no use to you, it won’t work with an SD card.
How to install the smart software?
apt-get install smartmontools
fyi you can check systemd logs on why smart fails when loading.
