[Solved] How to achieve Full RGB mode?

My projector requires Full RGB input coming from the playback device, in order to show colors correctly (I am working with test charts for their adjustment).
Today when I turned the Vero V to force Full RBG and restarted, the colors became washed out, which makes me assume the output is limited RGB (16-235 insted 0-255). I found 2 old threads indicating this was an unsolved problem in the past:
How to set the output to Full RGB
Black bande are grey
A setting "settings > system > display > Use limited colour range” in the GUI as it obviously existed in the past is not there anymore, means I cannot influence this directly. And in the guisettings.xml the setting seems to be what it supposed to be:

setting id="videoscreen.limitedrangeaml">false</setting>

I am wondering how can one ensure the Vero V outputs Full RGB?

So how did you ‘force Full RBG’? The setting is there if you set the Settings level to Expert.

I just re-read those threads and it seems the problem was solved. Can you post some logs please? What is the make/model of your projector?

Nevermind, I found one you posted earlier for an Optoma, and the EDID says

Block 1, CTA-861 Extension Block:
  Revision: 3
Underscans IT Video Formats by default
  Basic audio support
  Supports YCbCr 4:4:4
  Supports YCbCr 4:2:2

So why do you want to send RGB full-range?

Sorry, that was a typo of mine. The setting is actually named ‘Force RGB’ which didn’t reveal if it also means Full RGB or just limited RGB.
Meanwhile I found the correct log on the Vero V, which proves that the ouput is Full RGB:

Colour depth: 10-bit
Colourspace: RGB
Colour range: full
EOTF: SDR
YCC colour range: full

About the support of YCbCr 4:4:4 you’re absolutely right, and I have to try this because here I wasn’t sure if my output was 4:4:4, either. I had a constant color drift during the projector’s calibration process which is where this all begann, and I was wondering if changing to Full RGB will solve this. Since I know now that I am on the correct setting, let me compare with YCbCr 4:4:4 (I am pretty confident I can manage changing this) so I can figure out which setting is the best match for my configuration.

This thread was there to find out how to achieve Full RGB mode, and since that was achieved in my case I would consider this topic as solved. Thank you!

Glad it’s coming clearer. The log you posted before had full-range set but not RGB. That’s a dangerous combination as a lot of displays will not switch to full-range on a YCC signal. Your projector doesn’t tell us anything about whether it supports YCC full-range. We recommend YCC, limited range - you should calibrate with that setting.

Vero will always output YCC as 444 unless it’s outputting 4k60 or the user has set 422 explicitly in settings.
