I am running OSMC 2017-01-01 (v16) on a raspberry pi 2. I have started to get some sound distortion but only in background music of a movie or show. It has happened to both streaming and local played media. It doesn’t seem to impact the speech but the background music becomes slightly distorted, like it slows down slower than it should and you can tell its off. Any thoughts?
To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
It would also be good if we could find out more about the file you are having issues playing. Please see the mediainfo section in the same link
Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.
I have captured a debug, but I got an error when saving it saying it was too large for paste.osmc.io. How can I upload the text file here? The debug file that is about 10mins long is like 16MB.
Did you read the portion in bold about rebooting the device?
Yes, the log is only 11minutes long as this is how far into the video it took for it to happen again.
Did you enable all of the component debug options? They are not necessary in this scenario, only the basic debug logging.
Yes I wasnt sure what was needed. Is there certain messages I can strip out to make it smaller?
Strip them all
Each line says “DEBUG”. How do I know which ones to strip. There are a lot that begin like:
DEBUG: CMMALVideo:
DEBUG: CMMALRenderer
DEBUG: CMMALVideoBuffer
Can they all be removed?
Create a new debug log with no components selected, reboot and submit the logs.
He’ll have to reboot twice now to clear the bloated kodi.old.log.
Attached is the Debug & MediaInfo text.
MediaInfo Text: http://paste.osmc.io/ronoyumoma.vhdl
Debug Log: http://paste.osmc.io/edivekileg.vhdl
It happens right before I stop playing the video.
I appreciate the help!
Is the issue still present in v17 krypton? There are many more debug points we would prefer to see that should be included when selecting all logs in the MyOSMC log uploader. It appears you’ve stripped all of them too, though I only ever advised to strip the component specific items from the kodi debug logging page…
I had installed v17 krypton when it first got released, but it was extremely laggy for me so I did a fresh install of the Jan 2017 v16 install. On the upload logs page I selected “All Configs and Logs” and on the settings > system > logging i had checked “Enable debug logging” and disabled "emable component specific logging. I copied the text from the kodi.log on the sd card. This should have the same info but is when I told it to upload to the pastebin server.

I had recently installed the vnc server from the instructions on https://discourse.osmc.tv/t/howto-install-a-vnc-server-on-the-raspberry-pi/1517/252 but didnt think that would cause any issues. Any thoughts on this being the culprit?
The obvious question is, was the issue present before vnc install?
No it wasn’t. Just not sure why it would exhibit issues with no active connections.
