Spotify over bluetooth (a2dp) next track

Hi,

is it possible to send a command to my android phone which is connected via bluetooth (playing spotify music) to play the next song?

Is there a Keyboard shortcut or a bash command to do this?

Thank you

I don’t think this is possible. You’d need some software on your phone as well.

I do not agree. There must be a standardized protocol.

If I connect my phone to my music box I can click next on my box and it is skipping to the next track in spotify (Or other apps, like amazon oder google play music)

When you are so confident maybe you use some google skills to find some information how this is done via bluetooth.

Also wonder why you don’t want to run Spotify directly on OSMC instead?

Also wonder why you don’t want to run Spotify directly on OSMC instead?

How? Can I Play directly form OSMC without an other device?

Yes, you can install Spotify on OSMC and then play via any of your current audio sinks

Try the Spotify add-on in this repository: https://marcelveldt.github.io/repository.marcelveldt/repository.marcelveldt/repository.marcelveldt-1.0.1.zip

It got “experimental”(working good for me), spotify connect, that is your kodi device becomes a spotify connect unit. That is play spotify from your mobile and choose your kodi unit for the sound.

Alternatively, have it running in the background all the time with this software:

Instructions to install is lower at the page.
