Starting Kodi from SSH

Hello

I’m quite new to OSMC and Linux SSH, but familiar with Kodi. Feeling a bit embarrassed but I can’t restart Kodi from SSH. I think ist worked once using putty (long story) but afterwards I had no luck. What I did:
Start OSMC directly into Kodi (Raspberry PI3b)
Power menu and select leave.
Login with osmc/osmc.
sudo systemctl start mediacenter
Afterwards, nothing happens. I get a fresh line and can type in new commands. I’d really appreciate some troubleshooting suggestions.

Just type exit at the command prompt and give it a few seconds.

I’m confused, are you connecting via ssh, or with a keyboard directly connected to the Pi?

sudo systemctl status mediacenter

will give more details afterwards
