Been watching Apples’ “For All Mankind”…from 10 gig files.
All episodes are 3840x1920 (weird for film) and play perfectly on my Vero4K+ to my Hisense H9G.
Except… 3 episodes are 3838x1920 and revert to 1080.
I’ve remuxed them and such…with no joy.
Anything I could do with the whitelist to get 4K out of these.?
Can you give us the MediaInfo of the file?
The whitelist logic is that at least one of the width or height has to match exactly one of the resolutions available.

You will need to set your desktop to 4k and maybe turn off adjust refresh rate.
If a whitelist is being used couldn’t the resolution just be switched to 4K during playback in the video OSD settings without all that faffing about?

I could give that a try…out of the many many 4K files I have, it’s these 3 that revert to 1080…just the difference between 3838 and 3840 is enough to do it.
My H9G displays the good ones (3840) as 2160 rather than 1920, although I doubt any upscaling is being done.
I don’t fault my Vero here, this is just a mystery…why are the files 1920 in the first place?
I tested this file and to answer my own question, yes. I confirmed that with the auto whitelist the file in question outputs in 1080. I then set the whitelist for all 1080 and 4K resolutions enabled and tried it again. On my system this made it so the file automatically started using 3840x2160 @ 23.98 and my TV’s info screen confirmed HDR and 2160 input. I then used the select resolution option in the OSD Video settings to switch between 1080 and 2160 output without issue. Note that the ‘select resolution’ option is only available if you have manually set a whitelist.
