Stutter on vero

hi!

Is there any way to improve playback on the vero 4k? I can see stutter on certain videos (find attached), although sync to display has been enabled

A debug log will help.
Are you using passthrough? If so, you’ll want to disable Sync Playback to Display
Make sure Adjust Refresh Rate is enabled

hi Sam!

No passthrough enabled,
both sync to display and adjust refresh rate to display are on.

still can see stutter.

what is the “recommended” default setting to avoid this?

Does turning off sync playback to display help?
Can you please post a full set of logs, including debug log?

Sam

here you are: http://paste.osmc.io/gogibidane

The glaringly obvious thing I see that may or may not be a factor here is, you’ve failed to upgrade your advancedsettings.xml to reflect Krypton changes…

hi!

I removed that file entirely, thanks for suggesting, although it is still not ok :frowning:

If you copy that file to the local storage and play it, does it help?

hi Sam!

Not really, i think it is happening mostly at the beginning of the video. Is there any resampling/conversion going on when i start the file? Maybe that’s why?

There are improvements to buffering at playback start.

To test this update:

  1. Login via the command line
  2. Edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list
  3. Add the following line: deb http://apt.osmc.tv jessie-devel main
  4. Run the following commands to update: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && reboot
  5. Your system should have have received the update.

Please see if the issue is resolved.

I also recommend you edit /etc/apt/sources.list again and remove the line that you added after updating. This will return you to the normal update channel.

thank you, i added it to the last line, run the command and removed it.

should i see any version difference on osmc?
