Support RPi 5

Hi,

Is already known when support for the Raspberry 5 is coming?

regards, jogchum

It’s still in the works

Sam

OK, thanks.

Excuse me fror pitching in here, since I am also awaiting the Pi5 version of OSMC. I have been trying the Pi5 version of LibreElec (which has problems mounting my NTFS disks, unlike OSMC on my Pi4). And one difference I could find between the two is the version of Python used. I don’t know if this is a valid comment, but I thought maybe it matters.

They are very different operating systems by design

How is that, Sam? Both running on Raspberry Pi and both look like Linux to me.

Linux is a kernel, not a userland.
One is a JeOS and one is Debian based

Sam.

Aha. Thanks for clearing that up. :+1:

Hello Sam,

I see that RPi5 image is still not available. Can you please give any estimate on when it will be cooked?

I do not have an estimate,
Apologies but time is scarce,

I plan to approach support for Pi 5 and beyond a way that if can be done in a way that is easily maintainable and quick to track upstream changes.

Is there a testing branch or image that I could use and provide my feedback? Would this be kind of help for you?

Not just yet unfortunately
