Swap SD card from rpi 3b+ til rpi 2- possible?

Maybe on odd question, but here goes:

Is it possible to install OSMC and setup the OS and Kodi on a Raspberry Pi 3 model b+ and then remove the SD card and place it in an older Rpi 2 and boot up succesfully?

I need to help my parents who after a power outtage somehow damaged their existing OSMC installation and my intention was to setup the SD card with OS, and settings and addons where I live and mail it to them, so they’re back on track asap.

It is possible as these Pi models are based on the same architecture version (armv7).
