That is a @gmc build, not an official OSMC beta.
That’s what I’d like to know if you experience the same with an OSMC Krypton beta

Maybe I’we missed something but this AJAX forum’s engine is not friendly for searching. What is the difference between official OSMC’s Krypton beta builds and gmc’s builds? And what is newclock5?
Hi all,
I have now upgraded to .189 and am still getting bootloops- Kodi does not start through. Here is the log:
http://paste.osmc.io/qonoxafuqi
Yesterday I succeeded to start Kodi by installing (downgrading) to .185 - I had bootloops with that one as well, but then all of a sudden it worked. I could not figure out why, though.
Hope someone can help. The system journal shows some errors.
UPDATE Tried ‘sudo apt-get clean’ and now it’s working. My fault, should have tried that yesterday already …
Thanks,
Eriol
My builds are based on newclock5 code which is the latest kodi code which is constantly changing - hence the nightly builds. Its the latest and not considered stable. So expect issues.
OSMC Beta builds will be behind the newclock5 builds and is ‘more’ stable - but still beta.
Hit CTRL + F and you can search through the entire thread. It will be better than regular find on a browser.
*nc5 is a Git branch of @popcornmix
Expect breakage either way at this stage
Please don’t blindly ask me for log, since the issue is even able to disable debugging option…
Here is what I did so far :
…country is reverted to Belgium, AZERTY to QWERTY, channel list doesnt shoes logos anymore…
Nedless to say this issue is easily reproductible on your side.
An other point, that is may not be directly related but… when setting the keyboard to AZERTY inside kody/OSMC the command line keyboard remains QWERTY and we need to manually use some command to install AZERTY language thats painfull
Can I reproduce this without TVHeadend?
You can enable debugging by editing /usr/bin/mediacenter and passing --debug.

Since I didn’t know where to put “–debug” in /usr/bin/mediacenter, I did try to reproduce the bug with logging on instead.
In my idea it happens randomly BUT the last time it did, the only thing I have done is to set the screen saver from DIM to disable and then rebooted.
After rebooting interface is back to english rather than french and a lot of setting are lost including the screen saver reverted to DIM.
I have the logs before and after rebooting (I think)
before rebooting : http://paste.osmc.io/udafalogoy.vhdl
after : http://paste.osmc.io/wuvapekose.coffee
Are there a way to enable gamepad support?
I would like to navigate with my ps4 controller
Thanks for explaning!
But now it isn’t clear what’s the difference between nc5 and official Kodi branches and why @gmc choose it as base for it’s bulds?

Is there any reason why I can’t install Extensions?
When I try to install opensubtitiles from the extension search tool, I have the option to install it but nothing happens. No error message or progress bar or anything.
Any idea why?
Edit
This issue occurs on all other extensions I tried to install global-search for instance and many other subtitles providers.
Pressing return does not install the extension and it returns to the search results.

Probably removed the old OSMC repositories.
Otherwise – full output of apt-get is needed.
there was no previous install of osmc
I was trying to install it on rasbian
Im guessing you need to use an existing image of osmc
was hoping I could just install it as Im also running homeassistant
