[TESTING] Kodi 17 (Krypton) builds for Raspberry Pi (continued)

On Oct 13:

Current preview version: Kodi Krypton Beta 5
Kodi Krypton development is well underway, and the final release is expected shortly.

“expected shortly”?

Yes – I think we’ll see the final version near the end of January. That’s soon enough for us to make it our focus

@sam_nazarko So no build with beta 7 before?

We’re talking about two different things here. I think the previous poster was talking about the Kodi v17 final, not further beta builds.

OK I am talking about an OSMC update with beta 7
So is there an OSMC update with beta 7 before the kodi final will be released?

RC1 is just around the corner, so it may make sense to wait for that.

There’s a lot to do, so I am just building test builds locally at the moment. This thread is for the old GMC builds, so keep your eyes on the Beta Builds thread for updates.

Any idea what to do about this?

Seems to be a internet connection problem
Check if you can ping the webpages

You’re right! Lol, such a newbie error!

Thanks.

Hey there!

I want to install the Krypton build on my RasPi 3, after the installation finished, OSMC crashes in the “migrating(?) addons” screen and restarts again and again. I also had this issue on a RasPi 1 B. The update worked well on my RasPi 2 some months ago, but then I probably was on a different release then now. Could this have something to do with OSMC crashing, do I have to upgrade from a specific build? I’ll try to do the upgrade from the october build now, I’ll post here if this works.

Any ideas?

I’d try moving your addons away from the Kodi directory and moving them back in one by one.

A post was split to a new topic: Rule violation

Just finished the upgrade. Upgraded directly from a fresh October Jarvis build, I also used the commands from your new Key prom thread with the apt.osmc.tv source. It’s working fine now, although I don’t know wich of the three changes fixed the problem…
Thanks anyways!
