[TESTING] Kodi 17 (Krypton) builds for Raspberry Pi (continued)

Yes I did, I even searched for “My OSMC” in the addon search box. It definitely wasn’t available to the UI, at least in any obvious way.

I don’t really use the OSMC skin, I just thought it was note worthy that it was no longer installed.

16.8-057, 15 April 2016: Based off OSMC commit (b0fa336b1) and newclock5 (3d940dda)

Highlights

  • DVD playback has now been enabled. libdvdnav, libdvdread and libdvdcss will now be automatically installed.

newclock5

New commits in this build:

VideoPlayer: some cleanup to interfaces (b1b16571)

In @mcaron1234 defence i have the same issue with the OSMC program missing (i was attempting to setup bluetooth after a clean install and noticed it was missing). Still investigating into why it’s disappeared.

What does dpkg -l | grep addon-osmc gives you?
What does ls -lah /usr/share/kodi/addons/service.osmc.settings/ gives you?

@fzinken Sorry about the delay -

dpkg -l | grep addon-osmc
produces
ii mediacenter-addon-osmc 3.0.611 all OSMC addon for mediacenter

Where ls -lah /usr/share/kodi/addons/service.osmc.settings/

produces

I’ve noticed the addon is disabled by default. I re-enabled it and there you go it reappears on the dash (after a reload). Once you enter the app the styling is all off and it doesn’t seem to work unfortunately.

Which skin are you using?

I wonder if we need to make some changes to the add-on to prepare it for v17.

Also, unlikely, but does sudo apt-get install --reinstall mediacenter-addon-osmc help?

Sam

It is (kind of) working with Estuary

@sam_nazarko

Just using the default Estuary one at the moment. It complains about being unable to load skin settings too. Maybe it’s missing assets?

What is not working for you? I can access all the menus in MyOSMC

Here’s the log output

http://paste.osmc.io/uxizederat

Quite a few instances of

EXCEPTION: Unknown addon id 'script.module.osmcsetting.*

If you grep the log output for that it seems it can’t load the assets. Plus has references to the confluence skin?

Have you got the latest dist-upgrade? 16.8-058?

This is on top of a clean SD install of April’s build.

Wonder if fzinken has old Confluence skin still (not removed) and that’s why it is working?

I am on 16.8-057, will upgrade and can also try to remove confluence left overs as Sam indicates (while everyone would have them if not removed manually)

Ok, have upgraded to 16.8-058 and also removed skin.confluence folder and same result MyOSMC is working for me.

Sorry about the delay

Ok let me see if i can narrow it down a bit. Strange yours is working still even after you’ve removed all confluence assets.

Sorry meant to say - tried the reinstall and unfortunately no dice. Seems to load the addon but all it displays is the OSMC logo in the centre and the version no bottom left. No icons / options.

Error Message:

Unable to load skin - skin is missing some files

My osmc settings are working fine, im also on the latest build, with confluence completely removed.
Actually finding this build really good, no unhappy faces so far, the only thing i see thats still not right are the skip steps when watching a video, its all over the place, very random, 1 press could give anything.

Thanks for the hard work, this is shaping up to be the best version so far, and I love the new skin.

To be fair my settings were perfectly fine until recently. It was the samba push that had me reinstall to a vanilla image then refresh this build. From then on it’s been a little niggly but hey that’s what being at the cutting edge is about

Here is my beef im not using shitty banned addons nor anything (not saying that all of the above does) except popcorns repo for shadertoy and the only crash ive gotten or anything remotely out of control is a crash when i fast forward files

the OSMC addon works perfect tried it with each upgrade of the mediacenter update so how come people that has “fresh” setups has this problem if they dont seem to try everything upon update that makes me question their ethics for testing cause testing lets face is not for everyone…

call me a assh0le for saying this but its true just because you want to run the latest and the greatest doesnt mean that your qualified to do this, it doesnt entitle you as a user.

whenever there is an update try everything when alpha testing that is the simple truth…

been running on dev channel and alpha for 2 months straight and all i have to say is that @gmc and @sam_nazarko @DBMandrake are killing it cause running bleeding edge on any system often results in major issues and for me so far has been really stable…
