In this case I tried to open the file in /mnt/Movies/Some movie 2018/Some movie 2018.mp4. But this log pretty much goes for all file types and all the movies in my collection.
What I have tried so far to fix this:
- Remove item without deleting from the drive and adding it through the update library
- Turning it off and on again
- Update library and clean library
- Change themes
- Turn off autosubs (the addon that throws an error in the log above)
- Remove library source, clean library, and add it again
- Check permissions of the movie files (all of them have:
-rwxrwxrwx, even the series which work)
None of these brought me any success. Right now Iām on the latest version which is: 17.8-339. I donāt know when this started but itās quite recently.
Something to note here is that my /mnt/Movies is pointing to a network drive that I automount by having this in my /etc/fstab (same IP different folder for series, which works):
afpfs#afp://[username]:[password]@[localIP]/Movies /mnt/Movies fuse user=osmc,group=osmc,x-systemd.automount,noauto 0 0
I really donāt know what else there is too test, but something seems off. Anyone else having the same issue? Or anyone knows where else to look?
Have you tried copying one of the movies locally and playing.
Failing that can you post full debug logs.

Yes I did. Everything works fine when I play the movie files locally. Sorry for not mentioning that.

Sorry. It seems like permission issue after all. I tried copying the file from the Raspberry network drive to a folder on the SD card in the Raspberry and it outputs:
cp: cannot open '/mnt/Movies/Some Movie 2018/Some Movie 2018.mp4' for reading: Permission denied
I guess I will have to dive a bit deeper into permission and see if that fixes it.

Not seeing much in the logs except failed to open source.
Can you check the logs on your movie share. Maybe a permissions issue or something.

I fixed it! You were right, a permission issue all along. Apparently the user that I connected to my network drive with was a read only user so once I made that user read and write it all worked again.

I can now watch Netflix and Amazon Prime on Kodi.
Additionally, for the first time I was able to start some scummvm games on Kodi. Not possible to use because no controller input is send to the game (scummvm mouse pointer does not move).
But this is a big step forward from always āsad facingā.

While following all those instructions, everything seems to go fine, but no Leia. Iām really not proficient with Linux-type stuff. Does anyone know if thereās an OSMC Raspberry Pi (3) image somewhere that contains it already? I really want to be able to finally watch Netflix on my Raspberry Pi!!

If I remember correctly, I checked the system info in Kodi/OSMC, and this, from the instructions: dpkg -l | grep mediacenter-osmc | awk ā{ print $3 }ā
When I restart and check the sources.list the changes I made arenāt even there anymore.
That would either indicate you forgot to save or your SD Card being broken and gone into read-only mode.
Could having installed OSMC from NOOBS be a possible cause too, or no?
While it is not recommended it should not have influenced this situation. As mentioned I guess your SD Card is gone.
