Since stable Leia has been released, new OSMC build is going up soon. What’s the best way to migrate to a stable version?

Wait for a stable release.

Kodi have released it but before it gets pushed to all the OSMC users via the standard update mechanism the development team of OSMC will want to perform some compatibility testing etc. to ensure that people have a smooth upgrade experience. The development team are usually pretty slick with this so you shouldn’t have to wait too long.

How long is too long? I have no idea, it depends if they find any issues that need fixing.

My actual question actually is if I just need to modify sources.list to get the upcoming stable version or if I have to wipe my SD card completely since I’m on a testing build.

You just need to wait for the stable version.

Hi @sam_nazarko,

I think what @Nonononoki is asking is how to update from the beta build to the stable version once it is released? Just via Updates in My OSMC?

Thanks,
Mark

Yes the stable release will have a higher version number and automatically replace the testing version

Thanks for explaning @fzinken

Any movement on this issue (HEVC and green artefacts).

This will be one of the things we need to fix before pushing out the stable version.

Any idea if this issue (HEVC artefacts) can effect the Netflix plugin playback? Experiencing issue with black screen and artefacts there as well (sound is fine).
