@gmc Think there is got a mem leak or an infintite loop in Meteor for Gameboy advanced cause any game launched with that emulator locks up after a couple of secs doesnt even crash the system just freezes it

As I understand, the first ‘official’ osmc release will be based on Kodi 18.1 (which is already released). A kodi downgrade is not recommended. In best case, all gmc-18 users will by default migrated to stable osmc.

@gmc Maybe it is a good idea to create a new gmc-19 repo now and release newer versions there?

Otherwise, all further gmc-18 releases would be based on a newer kodi version than the final official release. I hope you understand what I mean…

V18 has not been branched yet, so there is no v19 repository to create.

My versions of v18 will supersede GMC nightlies automatically due to how we have numbered the builds in the repo.

17.8 = gmc
17.9 = initial osmc test builds
18.1 = final

We have already thought this one through

I thought that:

osmc_17.8-421+x will be based on kodi 18.1+x (current xbmc master, >8cfdc89)
osmc_18.1-x will be based on kodi 18.1 (8cfdc89)

Such that an update from osmc package 17.8-421+x to osmc package 18.1 would imply a downgrade from a current kodi master down to the stable 18.1.

But I noticed that gmc-18 is currently based on the same kodi version for the last two weeks, so this is older than 18.1.
And I am sure you know a lot more what you are doing than I do. I just want to share my fears

my recommendation is to focus on the emu of the kodi package cause the vid is fairly stable while the emu is a gamble

Kodi is at 18.2RC1 so this would mean you downgrade when you install the stable 18.1. Once the stable is released we would move nightlies to 18.2 or something like that.
