Yes sound like network issue, but only on NFS from kodi.
I am not able to reproduce the issue, if the nfs is mounted in osmc. Restarting the nfs-server doesn’t fix the issue. The MYSQL database is also on the NFS server, and I don’t have issue with it, I already try ping, and no lost. In my tcpdump on the NFS server, i saw the mysql and the ping but no nfs request from OSMC.

Is it possible for you to update libnfs ? Because the one provide by osmc, is very old and older than the one in debian stretch. I have try to use the one from debian stretch, but Kodi is not build for it and it’s not working.

I can do a bump of libnfs – but hadn’t seen an incentive to do so yet.
This bump should be part of OSMC rather than @gmc’s builds. Let me know if you wish to test.

Sam

Yes, I wish to test.
I have already try the one from debian stretch (libnfs8 - 8.2.0) but create a weird issue, media scan go in infinite loop, and also try the one from buster (libnfs12 - 12.0.0) but here kodi is not able to start (sad face in loop)

In all my research I have also found that on the xbmc github (https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/15194)

I think we should stay on the current version for now and wait for Kodi to start using libNFS4.

Since the update, my 1 & 1 from zattoo is no longer downgreat to xx.x.430 fixes the problem

There a recent update to zattoo so you would need to raise a issue with the developer:

Oh okay, because I can not comment or write unfortunately

@gmc is the current leia build based off of Kodi 18.2RC1? or an older version?

Nightlies are 18.2 RC1

I have try libreelec (on other PRI with other network cable, and with less switch) to be sure, and it’s the same issue. So yes, it is not libnfs. I will try to do the tcpdump on osmc, to see if I see NFS packet going out. If I don’t see the NFS packet going out, I will create a ticket on kodi, as I think it’s kodi 18 issue.

Hello pvr.zattoo is fixed 18.0.66 you can integrate it in osmc update in the next update

@KalNightmare is your OSMC/RPi/leia unable to play back music content from an NFS source?

That would be a problem for my use case. I did test Leia running on intel (over ubuntu) and in that case I found no issues with NFS. Maybe the problem you are noticing is related to both kodi and some osmc library version? After waiting for leia for such a long time in osmc it would be sad if it breaks nfs.

I guess I will get an image of my SDcard before updating osmc

@htpcero Sometimes it’s working, sometimes it’s not working. But if you can try it will be great to know if I am the only one or not.

I have continue some test, and I have done tcpdump on osmc.
So no NFS is going out osmc during the issue, only the mysql is going out.

I have opened a issue on kodi : Kodi 18 isssue with NFS share · Issue #15735 · xbmc/xbmc · GitHub

@gmc When the nightly go to kodi 18.1 and/or kodi 18.2 RC1 ?

@gmc @sam_nazarko Can you, please, build a kodi 18.0 package for me so I can try if it work ?

I am running the dev version of Osmc Kodi 18 with no problem via nfs. Nfs server is Ubuntu 18.04 lts. Library is stored in MySQL.

I also have no problems with nfs my music also runs on bibilotek

I have been running NFS since Alpha days and have never had any issues. NFS Server on OpenSuse Leap 15.

Nightlies are on 18.2RC1

What package are you looking for?

FWIW I’m running Fstab NFS4 from an OMV server now without issue. Was having NFS dropouts to the menu with NFS3 shares with 4.19.x kernel on the OMV. Switching to NFS4 and rolling back kernel of OMV to 4.18.0 has resolved the issue for me. A little digging has revealed an issue with the 4.19.x kernels causing problems with NFS3 shares. I do however believe libnfs in Kodi is having an issue still with NFS3 shares from a Fire TV stick I’m running to the same OMV server. It’s been a chore to try to debug exactly what’s happening however it is far less frequent now that I’ve rolled back the OMV kernel. Running the .431 beta at the moment on both RPi 3 and Vero 4K just for clarity.
