New build uploaded. Give it an hour to sync to the mirrors.
Hello @gmc, i enabled debugging today and updated to 417 release and now it all works. So whatever happened in the last couple of releases it has fixed it again. No logs needed I guess. Thanks!
Hello
can you recommend an update? I have my vero for a few days and there is version 17.6 on it! is it the 17.8 or version 18?
If you wait a few days you will get the stable v18 build automatically.
Sam
thx, i still wait
Just to name some issues I get with these builds until now:
- Kodi doesn’t remind the position when resuming the play in video files (I get video files from a DLNA server).
- VC-1 doesn’t work.
- A subset of x265 files (anime low bitrate) doesn’t work neither (some do some don’t).
- Like other ones have been experiencing in the regular version the sleep doesn’t work at all, it just wakes up few seconds after the sleep is pressed (always… I also think it’s due to lircd).
In the past couple of weeks I’ve been using the gmc Leia test builds more heavily, as I moved to the Vero 4k+ for daily use.
I make very heavy use of PVR - in particular tvheadend.
My experiences have been mainly positive, but I have noticed that a couple of PVR recordings fail to play correctly. The problem is also the same if I copy the RAW .ts file to the Vero4K+ and play from local storage. The video sometimes stops completely, stutters badly, or goes out of sync with the audio. Also if I try to Step Forward/Step Backward in one of the problematic recordings, then the picture completely freezes and never returns to normal.
I trimmed a 60 second snippet from a problematic recording of Emmerdale using ffmpeg - this is ~57MB in size, so I could upload it somewhere if required.
Here is a debug log from me playing this 1 minute ts file: https://paste.osmc.tv/emozoparut
This same raw ts file plays back fine on my other kodi installations:
- Generic HTPC (VDPAU) - Kodi 17.6 - LibreELEC 8.2.5
- RPi3 - Kodi 17.6 - LibreELEC 8.2.5
- Android Samsung S6 Phone - Kodi 18.0

As reported before, I also have problems with the suspend mode. Sometimes it works after suspending several times - but most often it directly stops suspend.
Did you experience this problem on Krypton, or only Leia?
Sam
I just started with OSMC by buying an new Vero 4k+ - and I directly upgraded to Leia. So I don’t know if the problem also exists in Krypton.
18.1 is out! (just saying …)
Indeed.

I think Sam is already baking a new osmc with kodi 18.1 included. Just make sure you don’t undercook or burn it
Is there any 18.2 rc1 just on the way?
Are u waiting for this or 18.1 will be baked out?
I am running these test builds and they are great… but how do i know when it goes stable? And when it does, how can i switch to that one without wiping my box?
You will see an announcement here in the forum and if you registered for the newsletter you will also get an email.
You will get the stable version automatically with the default update process. You then can just remove the GMC repository but that is more a clean up job then a necessity
