[TESTING] Kodi 18 (Leia) builds for Vero 2 & 4K

See Reinstalling OSMC - Vero 4K - OSMC

During the install of the nightly build, I get this:

I assume we always choose the first option?

If you have made any changes to the ssh config file go for the 2nd option, otherwise use first option.

OK, reinstalled 17.6 and with no addons upgraded to the nightly 18.8-15.

  1. turning the device to suspend will only work about 10% of the time, the rest it goes blank then wakes immediately. No other device/hardware changes made to my system.
  2. non-repeatable network lag, comes and goes.
  3. when clicking on a movie in the library, sometimes you get the spinning blue wheel of death, then pops back to the library window without playing the movie. When chasing down the actual file from “videos” the movie plays fine. If you try enough times it will eventually play, usually.
  4. freezing when skipping forward, not necessarily repeatable.

Thanks for testing. FWIW, I get (3) on 17.6 when my NAS HDD has gone to sleep. It just needs clicking again. I don’t have the knowledge to find the timeouts involved.

How can this be fixed?

You are not running the nightly version so probably best to open a new thread under help and support and post full debug logs.

Ok so I installed OSMC 18.8-18 because I needed the newer Kodi API for the newer MythTV addon which you needed for the newer MythTV

Anyway, all works fine except now the theme seems to have some gaps in it. Specifically Videos and Music seem to just not show up properly. Inside they are fine but the main menu is as show below.

Anyone have any idea why this is so?

Thanks.

From the top of my head: That’s a known issue which is caused by the localizes used for videos and music having changed with Kodi v18. Please navigate to System/Settings/Interface/Skin/- Customise skin…/Home/Adjust home menu and delete and reset the home menu entries for music and videos. To do so select the corresponding entry on the left side of the Adjust home menu window, select delete on the right and choose Restore original item (or something similar - not sure as I’m on the road atm) on the bottom afterwards. There you’ll be able to choose both music and videos to be restored. You can put them back to the position in the home menu where they were before with the small arrows next to the entries of the list on the left.

Both entries should then show up with the correct names again.

Yup that did it thanks. The sequence was actually:

Settings->Interface -> Skin -> Configuration => Home -> Customise Home Menu.

At this stage it may need to download an addon

Once on the Customize Man Menu page at the very bottom is has Add and Restore menu items click on the Restore menu items option and everything should be reset. It also reset the font sizes so you might need to make a note of those before you reset it.

Thanks for the quick response. As I said seems to be working well so far so will continue using it and if I find any bugs I will be sure to report them.

Cheers.

Glad it worked. Yup, tried to remember the sequence from the top of my head…

What do you mean by this? The font size is not adjustable.

What do you mean by this? The font size is not adjustable.

Sorry I meant zoom factor. Basically I always have to pump up the font size for he Lyrics plugin and forget I do it skin wide most times.

I’m impatient but when will you have a stable version of OSMC 18 ?

When it’s ready for release.

a serious answer please…

That’s as serious as you are going to get.
