Iāve been seeing issues when using multiple profiles. (set up to use a separate Kids profile, both master and Kids connecting to mysql (mariadb) on the server). I suspect these are Kodi upstream issues, and not specific to the vero4k, but thought Iād mention them.
Sometimes (usually?), when logging out of a profile with the last few builds, it just hangs and never gets to the login screen. (remote is dead in that situation). sshāing in to the box and doing a reboot clears it up. I havenāt attempted to capture a log yet, but can if you want one.
Often after switching profiles (including after a reboot), a number of the menu options start appearing blank. They work if you select them and can guess from the position or other context what they represent, but theyāre empty. For example, the pop-up menu when selecting an item, or the left-hand popup you get when navigating to the left (or top) of the screen) the one with the options for changing views, sorting, etc). This can usually be fixed by manually reloading the skin as far as I can tell. Problem appears to occur in every skin Iāve played with, including Aeon Nox, OSMC, Estuary Mod. Iāve noticed this particular issue on an android device as well, so think itās a general Kodi 18 issue, unless Iāve been doing something very wrong with how I set up profiles.
I tried upgrading to a nightly build (from 2018-10-1) following the directions in the first post. I failed the upgrade due to hash mismatch (while running sudo apt-get dist-upgrade). Do you need the details? Or should I just wait and retry the steps sometime later?
Running 17.8-369. Viewing a standard-definition video, decoded in software, upscaling to 4K. Something doesnāt look quite right with the Lanczos3 scaling algorithm - weirdly blocky effect. And if you zoom up to full screen, the video actually goes jerky (despite CPU usage being fairly low).
Iāve an issue displaying BD menus, now. Iāve ripped to disk a BD for TV tuning/calibration which contains a set of test pictures and videos for such purpose.
Some days ago I still could display the simple BD menu but now this is broken although a timer progresses in the right top corner:
