Hi mate, I’m running the latest nightly and have a slight issue.
How hard is it to revert back to 18.1 ?
The reason I ask is that I don’t think the issue I have was present in 18.1, but thought I’d check before raising the issue/generating logs.

You can either point back to gmc-18 and downgrade to v407, or just download the deb file from https://kodi.gjmccarthy.co.uk/
and install manually.

18.1RC1 is build 17.8-407 from Jan.

FWIW, Iv’e been patiently waiting for the official release but on the weekend one of my addons wouldn’t load as it needed the new DRM in Leia so here I am dipping my toes in the water. It’s running great and you guys are doing an awesome job. I fully support not releasing this till it’s ‘right’. Rock on!

When 18.x is released, how do I go back to release rather than running nightlies again? Do I just delete the line in sources that I added to go on nightlies?

You can only downgrade if there is no database upgrade.

To check what version of the myown addon are have run:

dpkg -l | grep mediacenter-addon

You will need to downgrade as per the first post. The nightlies are on 18.2.x. When Sam releases the stable build it will be 18.1. You can still downgrade as there have not been any database updates however you will not automatically receiver the stable as you will already be on a high version.

To go back and install the stable when its released:

  • Remove the line from sources.list and refresh apt-get
  • Manually downgrade:

sudo apt-get install mediacenter-osmc=18.1-xxx
