What is down side of disabling hardware acceleration?
First thing to check is that the video is being played at the right refresh rate.
how do i check that.
either you set the GUI to the same resolution/refreshrate as the video (1080p24Hz) or you set ‘Adjust refresh rate’ to ‘On Start/stop’ in Settings->System->Display.
Hi @fzinken
Do you need me to do any more tests for now? Already done with copying over nfs and everything seems fine. Played fine too.
No real idea where to look next.
Just wonder your wrote
Was that then playing from USB or the NAS?
Sorry I wasn’t clear. I copied the video over via NFS to the USB and then played the same file from USB. It was playing flawlessly over USB (this is the video I copied over).
Playing over NFS still had same problems.
Copying the file over from Kodi’s file manager. The speed was as expected of 100Mbps network.
No real idea where to look next.
No problem. I’ll visit the thread from time to time to see if you want me to test anything else.
Just a thought, the logs say that I was playing Justice League, but I was actually playing Harry Potter. Maybe there’s a clue there?

Could it be that was in the kodi.old.log
section?
Yes. Could be it That’s weird, I haven’t played that video in a long time.
One more weird thing is the time stamp is wrong. I haven’t watched Justice League in almost 1 month now.
Hello,
i just did a fresh install using test image but i still have the dependency problem.
Basically every custom addon i’m trying to install has dependency failed error.
If i check the log file i can see that kodi is not able to install dependency who are listed in the Files... . So i have to download the zip file manually and install it.
After that i’ve to try to install the custom addon again to check next failed dependency and so on until i’m able to install the custom mod. Is this a normal behavior ?
Some examples of dependency not found :

It’s a known issue of the Matrix beta build
I thought it should be fixed with the latest update :
- 28/04/2021: updated to top of Matrix upstream tree; fixed add-on dependency issues.
Ah I’m sorry I didn’t notice there was an update
Dumb question but have you tried looking for updates after installing from scratch?
Yes.
To avoid any strange issue i’ve downloaded the latest image from this thread. Format with fresh install then first thing i’ve downloaded the new update and reboot. After that to be sure i logged in ssh to manually check apt-get and after that tried to install a custom addon with the same problem i had until today … so it seems not fixed to me

It doesn’t look like to me that the update is actually available yet. I just ran a manual update from myOSMC, and it said there were no updates available. When I run sudo apt-get update
and then sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
the only packages I see that need to be updated are:
apt
apt-utils
libapt-inst2.0
libapt-pkg5.0
wpasupplicant
It doesn’t look like the media center package has an update. So that add-on dependency fix might not be available yet.
Maybe you’re right but when i used the MyOSMC update service i had to reboot and i noticed it also updated the kernel in an old style text screen during the reboot.
And also what’s the point to announce an update if the update is not here yet ?
It can take a couple of hours to reach all the update servers.
The kernel was updated but Kodi isn’t quite ready yet. I’ve a couple of fixes to reintroduce and updated the post shortly. The next update is imminent.
Pushed now.
Was there a setting pushed were audio was starting at minus 40 DB??? one of my testfiles (LG chess.mp4) wasn’t hearable while the audio on my AVR was set to 50db. After pressing the middle button and the OSD came up i went to audiosettings and saw the audio was back on -40 db. Moving that back to 0 all went fine. I can’t recall lowering the audio in Kodi myself. Not a big problem as I have changed it for now, but just to mention it
For the rest still no issues found on my side with all diff testfiles, they all play well. Keep up the good work !!!
