If you have automatic updates enabled you should have seen several times updates are available
notification. Otherwise you would need to do it manually.
Thanks. I manually check for updates pretty much every time I use it., the most recent being last night. I always get the “no updates found” message at the end, but it does seem to be downloading something before that message pops up. The version never changes from the 2020.11.1 though.
I haven’t seen that ghostly “updates are available” on my screen in many months.
I am not sure if I am getting updates. I am setup to do them manual. If i look at system info it shows kodi version as 19.0
I have also tried to update with ssh. I get this message. E: Release file for http://apt.osmc.tv/dists/buster-devel/InRelease is not valid yet (invalid for another 2d 22h 29min 18s). Updates for this repository will not be applied.
Date might be off on your device. Try rebooting.
Thanks that fixed it
And it won’t till a general update. Check in Settings System which should say 19.1
I’m seeing the same - multiple files. Not tried ISO. Was working perfectly with my Denon amp to my LG TV while I was on the 4.9 kernel test branch
Just installed some more updated today and looking like it might be sorted, certainly mkv file i was testing with is ok now, seeing buffering on my test iso, but that might be something on my network so need to test that’s ok before I blame OSMC update
After a few days away from the Vero I updated the latest test version today, went to play a blu-ray mkv of Game of Thrones with pass-through audio and the audio was just static noise.
Your AVR does not support DTS but you have set DTS passthrough.
seems that an OSMC update has broken detection of codec support? My Marantz NR1711 supports pretty much everything. This was working until I applied the OSMC update yesterday.
We only pass through what you enable, but your AVR shows DTS as not supported. It shows support for:
====================== Audio Cap =================== k3dRrf31
CodingType MaxChannels SamplingFreq SampleSize
PCM, 6 ch, 32/44.1/48 kHz, 16 bit
AC-3, 6 ch, 32/44.1/48 kHz, MaxBitRate 640kb/s
Dobly_Digital+/ATMOS, 8 ch, 32/44.1/48 kHz, AFCDepValue 0x1
MAT, 8 ch, 48 kHz, AFCDepValue 0x3
Perhaps DTS will work in another mode on the AVR or on a different HDMI port.
Sam
all I can say is that this was working perfectly before I applied an OSMC update yesterday, and my UHD disc player and my Shield running Kodi 19.1 have no issues with HD audio passthrough.
Has the receiver received a firmware update recently?
Try power cycling it.
Strange. Try unplugging/replugging hdmi cables or turning everything off/on.
Are you sure they are sending DTS and not automatically falling back to PCM?
for sure, the display of the NR1711 shows the codec of the input stream, DTS:X, HRA, HD etc.
Ok, passthrough DTS is working after a full power down of the Marantz. I need to remember this as the handshaking between the Vero and my AVR seems to be very temperamental compared to my other sources.
Still experiencing loss of audio when chapter skipping mkv’s with DTS-HRA audio (passthrough), as noted in previous posts.
Pressed my thumb to the bones on a Vero4k+ remote control to reproduce this with my avr Sony STR-DN1080 … and can’t.
Used several mkvs with DTS-HD HRA 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1.
So, at least this is not a general problem but it points to something very specific with your Marantz avr.
