[TESTING] Kodi v19 builds for Vero 4K / 4K +

Thanks

Disabled now

Thanks Sam. Are you saying that if I do nothing manual with regard to updating, changing sources etc, the build I am on will automatically get updated soon when you release it?

Is this the “release” version that I should expect?

Thanks for all you guys do!

I did install the test build and now i have one question.
Where could i find the HDR-SDR option? I only found the Nits.

This is automatic. The next build will have some improvements.

Could you give a short preview what might be coming

In terms of HDR-SDR tonemapping, Vero has always done this automatically so by default you will see much the same as you do with 18.9. Right now, we’ve improved the way the contrast control works. Users with projectors may find that useful.

Coming up: BT2020-SDR setting for users with displays that support BT2020 but not HDR10 (again projectors, mostly, we believe).

@grahamh amazing news. You knew that I use a projector which is capable ob bt2020 but not hdr

I’m seeing something similar when trying to install the crontab service from the App Store. I select crontab, then APPLY and nothing happens and I get that similar log entry. Then if I quit myOSMC and try and go back in, it says the service isn’t running. A reboot at least gets my myOSMC back, but I still can’t install crontab. And about half the time when I try and run myOSMC it complains the service isn’t running.

Is there some way to install crontab from the command line?

sudo apt-get install cron-app-osmc

Hi, I have the same issue with Spotify. Did you manage to get this sorted?

What exactly do you mean by contrast control? How do I manage this? Is this the nits entry?

It’s in the context menus when you are playing a video. Press OK then navigate to video options (icon is a film can in OSMC skin).

Updated to 4.9.113-40 kernel just now and nfs playback still buffers a lot.

But when I entering my nits in the preferences I do not have to adjust contrast, or am I wrong?

You don’t have to adjust anything if you like what you see on the screen. Many PJ users say the picture is too dark. You can use contrast to make it brighter. That setting is saved for each video.

Just bumping this post again. Since installing Kodi 19 on the Vero, I am getting loss of audio on chapter skips with DTS-HRA passthrough. It’s a bit random as far as I can tell, sometimes audio is lost on chapter skip, sometimes not. Problem still present with 19.1

I checked my Shield just now into the same AVR and audio was never lost on chapter skip, I tried many times and it was solid.

Looks like Game addons need compilation for exact device.
According GitHub - zach-morris/kodi_libretro_buildbot_game_addons: Create Kodi Game Addons from the Libretro Buildbot Binary Files they have pipeline for do that for common platforms. Can you please contact with zach-morris and ask for add Game addons compilation for OSMC platform.

Updates coming every day at the moment… good job. Thanks all.

Hi Sam. This may be my complete misunderstanding, but should I have expected to see a version update last weekend as you mentioned earlier? If so is there anything I would have to manually do to somehow “trigger” this update?

Thanks!

Something I’ve been trying to even understand is how to incorporate games into OSMC/Kodi in this way. I have scoured the Kodi forums, Google etc. I get that the Libreto library is some sort of platform for emulators, but I have not found any source that explains this in a big picture kind of way for me to wrap my head around it.

Do you have any sort of tutorial for playing retro games on OSMC on a Pi3?
