[TESTING] Kodi v19 builds for Vero 4K / 4K +

I use advancedsettings.xml to connect to a MySQL/MariaDB database. Updated to the devel branch. Database upgrade “successful”. But library was empty. Had to mysql_upgrade the database before upgrading/starting Kodi. Dropped the new MyMusic82 and MyVideos119 databases and restarted Kodi to fix this.

I’ve grabbed the file. I’ll check it later.

I’ve not encountered MKA before. It’s possible it’s going through paplayer and not VideoPlayer and that would behave differently.

Interestingly, I checked the time indicator via the Kodi web interface in Chrome/Win 10 to the Vero 4K+ for the Dolby True HD MKA file, and the problem wasn’t present. Time ticked away as expected.

Thanks so much for looking into this.

Hi guys,
today i made a update to v19 on Vero 4k as explained on this thread. OSMC found a big update and installed it, but after installing if i go to My OSMC it still shows November 2020.11-1 on lower left corner. If i update manually now, it says “no update available”. What’s wrong?

Second problem: After the update there is no inputstream.adaptive addon anymore on kodi, which i need for the youtube-Addon. It’s not available in the kodi repository either. Sadly i’m a totally noob on this things, maybe somebody can help to get inputstream adaptive addon back
Thanks
Gurax

That is correct, just check under Settings - System Info that you are running Kodi 19.1

Youtube is running fine here, are you on the latest version?
It just depends on inputstream.helper which is available

Hi fzinken, thanks for the reply!

Youtube is running, yes, but only on a max of 720p without the inputstream addon. In the config-menu of the Youtube-App you can see that in the tab “MPEG-DASH”

Have version 6.8.15+matrix.1

Everything in the UI is looking a lot more blue now than it used to - has some sort of overlay opacity been increased recently?

Also, going into the Skin menus, I noticed Skin Helper Service and Skin Helper Service Skin Backup are disabled, and can’t be enabled because they’re not compatible with Kodi 19 - is that expected at this point?

Huh. I’m seeing this as well - after the latest update it’s behaving as if InputStream Adaptive is disabled or missing. :open_mouth:

I am also bumping up against the “inputstream.adaptive” missing problem trying to install the CBC News add-on. It’s failing to install saying it needs inputstream.adaptive version 2.6.0.

m!

Also came here to echo the inputstream adaptive issue. Both Netflix and Amazon VOD no longer work.

Has anybody seen any issues with memory leaks causing a crash when just navigating around the movie section. The memory suddenly races down to around 500MB of memory and then you get sad smiley.

There doesn’t appear to be anything in the logs as the process gets killed before it can presumably flush the logs.

What’s the best way of tracking it down, happy to post the logs but they don’t show much.

Have a video of it and it appears to happen on both Vero 4K+ boxes that I have. Presumably, because one is a clone of the other. On the default OSMC just a few down button clicks on the remote will cause it. Page down, however does not seem to cause it to do so.

I am using mySQL as a shared database but haven’t seen this on the previous Leia build.

The last time it happened I was actually back to the main menu when it crashed.

What is the size of your library (number of movies) ?

This has been an issue with non-pcm audio (dts, dolby) tracks in the music player since forever (you see that same behavior with DTS multichannel wav files for example). Matrix still has the issue. It’s not an OSMC specific issue, as far as I can tell, every platform does it.

While it’s potentially annoying when you have the full-screen music visualization open and you spend all of your time actually staring at it, it doesn’t effect the music/audio being played. I’d put it on the bottom of the priority list.

It’s around 2,000 from memory so quite large but was working before upgrading

Have a video of it here, that hopefully shared ok. It only starts eating memory if I click on the down button to start navigating.

… nevertheless, if its applicable to every platform (timestamp flickering) then surely someone can report it to the Kodi team ?

(I’m not sure I can do that myself with any ‘authority’ )

Thanks, Chris.

It’s been reported a few times.

And this one still open:

Ok, must be a problem in yesterdays build as it was working the day before. Might just be a compile issue that could be fixed in the next days.

There will be few skin changes coming with this update, yes. We’ll make an announcement post at some point. Customization is still possible when it comes to opacity and colours.

Skin helper service and skin helper service skin backups scripts are available for v19, but haven’t been pushed to the Kodi repo until this point. You can follow this over at the Kodi forum: skin helper service

Hopefully, the scripts will be updated eventually though.

I tried to fix this last night before bed. Haven’t checked if it’s fixed yet.

Yes inputstream adaptive is working again. I needed to reinstall CDM and reactive MPEG-DASH but everything is working fine even Youtube 4K with HDR and Dolby Digital
