TV show episode thumbnail picture pixalated

Hi All,

Hoping someone can help me with an issue I’m having with pixelated tv-show episode thumbnail pictures (see below). This only seems to affect tv shows where there isn’t official artwork available for each episode and it randomly displays a scene from that episode. It also does’t affect all episodes, though it seems random.

Screenshot displays fine

Thanks in advance!

I know this isn’t the answer for which you are hoping and maybe someone else will explain the mechanism of autocreating thumbnails but I was so fed up with this a few months ago that I created a TheTVDB account, uploaded missing episode pictures and added episode titles for some lesser known Scandinavian web drama series there myself. You not only help yourself by this but also others.

Can you remux the mkvs? Because

Muxing mode : Container profile=@0.0

is Strange normally it should be 4.1 or 4.2 with AVC.

Yeah, not the solution I wanted but got it fixed now. Thanks for the suggestion. At least others shouldn’t have the same issue.

Okay, good! How did you fix it? And what about Lostion’s suggestion?

I assume he just ran his files through MKVtoolNix to fix the bad containers.

Yes, I just used mkvtoolnix. I also added thumbnails to tvdb.
