Yes.
The switch on the hub’s USB port is on and the blue light is illuminated, right?
It is Sam and I have tried all 4 ports
Can you post a log?
I think something may be wrong with the drive
Sam
uploaded logs https:/paste.osmc.tv/ucepafevul
The error happens on 2 different drives only when connected to Vero.
In that logs no external harddisks are shown to be connected so not able to see your problem from them.
Ok, i thought it would have last logs from when it would not play films from hard drive.
It would have the Kodi logs (but I even didn’t see that) but it would be missing the kernel logs.
Just upload the logs as soon as you give that failed play of the file. So far it sounded like a problem you can easily replicate, or?
Would not even open drive this time. log https:/paste.osmc.tv/olijawiyik
Yeah doesn’t look good>

If you are sure not a power issue than it might be that the USB adapter has an issue with Linux.
Anyway my first recommendation would be on Windows to check the disk with smartctl or other tools that can check smart values.
Got it to open drive and try and play uhd file . https:/paste.osmc.tv/ihevemibib
passed smart tests
In that log no disk errors shown, but there is an issue to get data fast enough.
Not sure why as USB should be fast enough.

I get buffering message and film does play slow.
This problem only happens on my 2 drives with uhd files.
Rolled back firmware and now playing uhd files again.
It doesn’t look like you rolled anything back – just reinstalled to the latest version still. I’m glad this has resolved the issue.
I picked 3rd file from top but all working again so I’m happy. Appreciate all your help Sam.
