Unable to play V_MPEGH/ISO/HEVC

Hi.

I’m unable to play the following files. They play fine on my ancient i3 windows10 in vlc with hardly any cpu use. They play fine on a cheap android s905 box running coreELEC, but only after I “Enable HEVC seek workaround” under the coreELEC settings. I can’t seem to find any similar setting on the vero 4k+ ?
Is there anything I’m doing wrong, or anything I can do?
Thanks.

You’ll need to provide debug enabled logs demonstrating the problem so that we have any idea.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Hi,
I thought it might be a simple case of, it won’t play that format / codec / whatever.

But if it should and it isn’t and logs can help, then I’ll get some logs.

I hope this is everything for the log

It would be good if you could upload a sample of that vid somewhere. When you say ‘unable to play’ do you mean it plays badly or you just don’t get a picture?

The audio plays fine, the video doesn’t play at all for the first 30 seconds or so, then plays 2 or 3 seconds, then freezes for another 30 seconds or so, then plays another 2 or 3 seconds, and so on. All the while the audio is fine.

I’ve uploaded the file to my googledrive, but I’d rather not share the link in public if at all possible? Is there someone admin I can pm with the link?

PM it to @grahamh

Sorry, I’ve been unable to find the PM button !?!
Do I need a minimum post count before I see it?
Or is it somewhere obvious I’m missing?
Thanks.

Click on grahamh nickname or G icon, click message button =)

I’m not sure how I could have missed the massive blue message button. But I’ve found it now, and sent the link. Thanks for all the help, I clearly need it today !!
