I don’t know whether this has to do with the issues in thread choppy video since krypton update on Vero 1 but every film/video material (regardless of the resolution) starts with an up to 15 seconds pause (showing a black screen or frozen first picture).
I switched several times between Kodi v16 (Jarvis) on OSM 2017-01.01 and Kodi v17 (Krypton) on OSMC 2017-02.02 and can confirm this behavior only for the Krypton release running on the Vero 1. A Raspberry Pi 2 and a Vero 2 do not show this symptom running on OSMC 2017-02.02. With Kodi Jarvis all videos start immediatelly on all platforms.
I also tested this with video material placed on a direct connected hdd and a Synology NAS (nfs) with no difference.
