The Update process failed. Fair enough, but a message is displayed to contact the OSMC forum for help. Fair enough. However, I did discover that the update failed due to my broadband connection having gone down. Would it be possible for OSMC to give a response that no internet/broadband connection could be found, please check connection. This would allow immediate checks to be carried out if this situation arises. I assume that other reasons may exist for an Update failure, but this type of connection failure is quite common I have found so a more intelligent response would help in this situation. I have found that a Lan cable connection to a RPi can become disconnected quite easily.

I agree that we can be more verbose during the update process. This is already planned for when we re-work My OSMC.
