Update for January failed

And after going back to 2016 and running:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && reboot

I had no errors. The update only went up to 2017-10-1:

Sounds like the driver then. I’ll revert to the older one.
Did you see other symptoms, so that you could verify quickly if things are fixed?

The apt-get failure was the most obvious one, but there was that other command…
Here it is: curl https://ftp.fau.de/osmc/osmc/apt/pool/main/v/vero2-mediacenter-osmc/vero2-mediacenter-osmc_17.6.0-22_armhf.deb > /dev/null

That fails on Ethernet, too.

  1. Login via the command line
  2. Edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list
  3. Add the following line: deb http://apt.osmc.tv stretch-devel main
  4. Run the following commands to update: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && reboot
  5. Your system should have have received the update.

Please see if the issue is resolved.

I also recommend you edit /etc/apt/sources.list again and remove the line that you added after updating. This will return you to the normal update channel.

After applying the new version, this command did not give any errors. (There weren’t any updates for me to try those.)

I get the same error too, when cloning into the git repo. Right now I am on cable, because the wifi in my neighborhood sucks (18 Mbps down vs. less than 1 Mbps down)

EDIT: It also happens on wifi over 4G/LTE

From your posting history, it looks like you have a Vero4K. The issue on this thread seems to be with the ethernet driver for the Vero2.

If you’re on a Vero4K, I suggest you open a new thread. With logs, please. :wink:
