Update Library takes foreverrrr

i have a Vero V. several months ago the time it takes to Update Library increased from ~30 seconds, to 3-5 minutes. it sits at “Scanning TV shows using TMDB TV Shows, 0%” forever, even when i only have 1 or 2 new episodes to scan. my media files are on a local NAS, everything is connected via ethernet. no network issues that i’m aware of. my library is pretty small, maybe just 15 TV folders. i haven’t seen anyone else complaining, so maybe it’s just me? how do i troubleshoot?

cheers!

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

thank you, log here: https://paste.osmc.tv/zaqidufudu

That log doesn’t show anything being scraped. I see where you started a library scan, but since there were no updated shows or episodes, the scraper never got called. A log showing a slow scrape is going to be needed to help with this.

There is a lot of errors “Unable to lookup host: 'synopath”
It may have something to do with it.

it’s not the scraping that’s slow, it’s the scan. it was stuck scanning for a good 3+ minutes here. the actual scraping when it finds something is fast.

ah, so probably network config/protocol issues with my NAS, then. maybe i have to re-add my shares.
